About
Every month, I write an e-mail newsletter, "Red's Guide
to a Happy Deployment", with the hope of bringing some
comic relief to our deployed troops. So it was such an honor
and privilige to be apart of this vision. For me, being asked
to do this project was just a natural extension of who I am
and wasn't about making a pretty picture, although our team
did a great job of making that happen. But it was about giving
part of myself to something greater than me and with a greater
purpose that I could help contribute to. And that -- in a very
small, small way -- symbolizes who this calendar will benefit:
the troops, who have given their lives to service by signing
on a dotted line to be apart of something bigger with an amazing
purpose. This calendar was about one American giving to another
American, and while I don't think that I can do enough to help
show my love of country and my troops who protect us, this is
a little drop in the bucket for the ocean of gratitude and pride
I have. Here's Looking at You -- The Troops who dearly value
American life and want to preserve it for future generations
in everyway possible -- that simply touches and inspires me,
maybe that's why I always tear up and get goose bumps whenever
the National Anthem is performed! ~ Robin Sara

My husband served in the Navy on submarines, and
I tried to do my best as the supportive wife. I joined support
groups and volunteered my time to help raise money for our naval
base and the military. Now that he is out of the Navy we don't
participate in many military functions, so I was honored to do
this calendar and continue to help raise money for our armed forces.
I also love to bake. I would give my husband a big Tupperware
container, filled with cookies, to take down for his guys on the
sub. So being in the kitchen baking cookies for this shoot fit
my personality to a tee.Plus I got to eat the cookies too ~ Alice |

Although I have never modeled before, when I was
approached to be a part of this calendar I could not turn it down.
Being part of something like this, which has the potential to
really make a difference in people's lives, is an amazing opportunity
and a lot of fun. Raising money for our troops and more specifically
the Walter Reed Army Medical Center is a very important cause
and I am proud to be a part of it. ~ Jenny |

Shooting for this calendar was a good experience on many levels.
As a former child tennis player, I got to practice my swing
again. And as a professional model, I got to contribute to a
meaningful project that will help a lot of people.~ Ivy

It was both an honor and a privilege to be part of such a momentous
project. I feel that this undertaking was divinely inspired
to help benefit the troops, who sacrifice not only their physical
well being, but their spiritual and mental health as well. Being
a part of this venture was definitely a labor of love. I feel
that the staff was not only professional and enjoyable to be
around, but TRULY passionate about this endeavor. In knowing
that they were sincere in their mission, being part of this
project was all the more meaningful. ~ Mone't Ravenell

This was definitely a worthwhile undertaking!
I was elated when I was asked to be part of this project. Fashion
for the sake of fashion is great, but it's important that people
keep in mind that this very freedom [expression], along with all
of the other freedoms we enjoy are bought with a price. Our soldiers
put their lives on the line daily in order for us to exercise
basic rights, and it is important that we honor and support them
in any way possible. This is my way of supporting my country and
our brave soldiers. Thank you all. ~ Lila |

Our soldiers have made a commitment that they follow through
with on a daily basis and put their own lives on the line for
our freedom. I don’t think we can truly grasp what they
have gone through. So I’m praying this calendar and my
contribution, as well as everyone else involved in the making,
can help raise money for our heroes to recover, see their families
and encourage others to protect what we have here in the US.
Peace and God Bless. ~ Kristina

First and foremost, I'd like to thank all of the soldiers that
have served our country. I'm really honored to have been given
this opportunity to help raise money for Walter Reed Medical
Center. This project has been so much fun to work on, too! I'm
definitely a football girl, so the theme couldn't have been
more fitting. Don't be fooled by the make-up! Not only do I
cheer my teams on, I'll play a game of pick-up with the best
of 'em! ~ Jenna

I had an awesome time shooting for this calendar! The photographer
was very pleasant, fun and kept me smiling. Besides, who doesn't
love dressing up as a cowgirl :) ~ Heather

Because of the sacrifices of our US soldiers, I am able to
live my busy life freely with a sense of security. Although
it is not much, I could not dismiss the opportunity to extend
my deepest gratitude and appreciation for our soldiers by participating
in this project.
Soldiers, I thank you for allowing me to have the luxury of
choice, which is not afforded to many countries around the world.
It was great working with the Balance Photography team as their
talent is of the highest quality, but more importantly, their
hearts desire to reach many people around the world through
this project. ~Te'von

There are no words to describe the importance of our troops
and the sacrifices they make for us on a daily basis. Being
a part of this project has given me the opportunity to express
gratitude to each and every hard-working member of the United
States' services. I salute all of our troops and veterans for
their bravery and continuous efforts to make our country a safe
place. Our appreciation extends well beyond a simple thank you.
